Recycling Sources & Locations

The most common type of recycling consists of plastic, glass, paper and corrugated. Many local communities offer these services. There are many locations nationwide where one can recycle many other things such as old electronics and computers or e-waste. Staples and Best Buy are now accepting some of these items. You can even recycle your empty ink cartridges and get store credits in various stores.

Donating furniture, clothing or other household items is also considered recycling. Donation centers for such items are numerous in most communities. Fixing something broken instead of throwing it out is also considered recycling and greatly reduces your carbon footprint.

The accumulation of waste worldwide is alarming. There are now eight large areas in our oceans, one as big as the state of Texas in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, that are so full of plastic and other garbage that it is severely affecting the ability of many ocean life to survive. The oceans are the lifeblood of our planet. We must unite to stop this devastation.

The ability to make a difference starts with small individual actions we can each take. Be responsible and care about your planet for today and future generations.
